Centreville, Virginia – October 31, 2018 – EdgeMicro is expanding its leadership team with the addition of experienced technology executive Martin Capurro, who will serve as Vice President and General Manager of the company. Capurro has extensive go-to-market experience in telecommunications and IT infrastructure that will make him a significant asset to EdgeMicro as the company enters the implementation phase for its rollout of micro data centers at the edge.
Martin Capurro is a seasoned technology executive with a keen ability to recognize trends in IT and telecom and then drive transformative solutions that leverage cutting-edge technologies. He has led businesses and technology teams through tough hyper-growth, turn-arounds and start-up phases. Prior to joining EdgeMicro, Martin was General Manager of Long View US and was responsible for transitioning the business from transactional HW/SW resell model to high-value managed services and management consulting. In 2011, Martin was a key player in the CenturyLink acquisition of Savvis and went on to manage Cloud & Managed Services products for the combined company, resulting in CenturyLink achieving a leadership position in Cloud services as acknowledged by Gartner, IDC, and Forrester. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Product & Development for the Qwest Hosting & Cloud business, leading the transition from colocation to higher-value services.
“The votes are in – our initial MNO and content provider customers love our model as it solves both the technical and business challenges of delivering zero-latency content,” said Mike Hagan, CEO of EdgeMicro. “We will roll out into 30 markets in 2019, with hundreds, even thousands to come, and Martin is the perfect person to make it happen.”
“I joined EdgeMicro because the company has the right solution for delivering content and services at the edge of networks,” said Martin Capurro. “The EdgeMicro solution is based on a proven model – providing a neutral colocation and peering environment closer to users. EdgeMicro’s vision hits the bullseye, and the next step is executing on that vision.”
“The EdgeMicro management team has expertise in each of the areas that are crucial for success at the edge: data centers, telecommunication networks, colocation, interconnection, traffic exchange systems, and implementing solutions at scale. I’m excited to be part of this great team to help make edge computing a reality,” added Capurro.
