An energetic, broadly experienced technology executive, Anton Kapela serves as Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer at EdgeMicro. He leverages his 20 years’ experience in research and development for inter-provider networking, routing security, and data center technologies to develop and deploy high-value edge colocation solutions.
Anton’s devotion to advancing communications networks and wireless technologies has led to groundbreaking advancements in ultra-low-latency radio communications. He has applied his insights in the realm of inter-provider routing security, where he was featured in a 2008 WIRED article titled “Revealed: The Internet’s Biggest Security Hole.” Anton has also pioneered ultra-low-latency radio communication for high-frequency trading firms.
As a principal at Windy Apple Technologies Inc., Anton designed, deployed, and operated a point-to-point, long-haul microwave network, spanning the 700+ mile distance between Chicago and New York City. Previously, the only other company to deploy a terrestrial microwave network of this scale was AT&T.
Prior to joining EdgeMicro, Anton spent ten years serving as CTO and partner at 5NINES LLC. His past experience includes technical system discovery and intellectual property valuation for M&A in the web hosting, ISP, and mobile network operator industries.
